Hi everyone! Welcome to our Hopkinson Daisy troop Blog site! I thought this would be a great way for us to keep in touch, set meeting dates and times, share info, photos and the like. I am going to do my best to keep this blog updated with what you need to know and will send you e-mails asking you to look at the blog for updates when needed. All scheduled meetings, activities and field trips will be posted here. I will be e-mailing each of you our roster for your information. Obviously, I will ask that you keep all information on the roster and any other personal information you receive while spending time with our girls private and confidential. The reasons are obvious but the safety of our little girls is paramount and my priority as a troop leader. If your mailing address is not on the roster, I ask that you send it to me at ebert2menier@msn.com ASAP.
I am going to my troop leader training this Friday and am looking forward to getting great information about what to expect this year and my role as troop leader as well as what we will be needing to get started. I am also working this week with Dr. Stewart to get us a classroom at Hopkinson to have our meetings in. If any of you live near by and are interested in holding any meetings in your home, please send me an e-mail and let me know.
I am hoping to hold our first meeting one day during either the week of October 3rd or the week of October 10th at Hopkinson so please stay tuned (this is for PARENTS ONLY but we can have some coloring stuff or something for the girls to play if you need to bring them). Once I speak with Dr. Stewart and get us a meeting room (I have already reached out to her to see about getting one for the year), I will let you know date, time and location. Please plan for this meeting to be after school and will likely start right after school let's out. I believe most of our troop meetings will be immediately following Kindergarden release on a one time a moth basis. I realize some of you may not be able to attend every meeting but ask that you do your best to be at any meetings/activities possible.
The other date to note is the first Daisy's Activity scheduled for October 27th and is the annual Daisy's Halloween Hijinx held at Rush Park in Rossmoor (I only heard this through the grapevine but I believe it will be held immediately following school day release). Once I have more details I will let you know but please save the date! We will need mom's to step up and chaperone for the event so please do your best to plan to be there. We will discuss this more at our parent meeting!
